Encausticamp Monotypes Part 1

Encausticamp. There is no other art retreat like it. It is the highlight of my summer. My friend, mentor and art goddess Trish Baldwin Seggebruch has created a heaven for us. This is the place where you can come year after year (we call them "lifers") and never experience the same thing twice. We are family.

I taught 2 separate printmaking techniques this year; Monotype and Collographs. It was wild. The participants left class with stacks of prints; even I was surprised by the amount. We danced for joy as we saw what marvelous creators we all are. I'll let the work speak for itself. This is only a small portion of the monotypes created. I'll have more monotype photos for you tomorrow but that will only represent a portion of those created. I'll try to post a little each day this week so you can get a flavor of what went on in my classes.

Enjoy.

I know. Spectacular, right? I'll be teaching the same class at Encausticamp 2014. Start planning now. It's located at Federal Way, Washington and it's more joy and creativity in a week than most people get to experience in a lifetime. And if you're a guy, please know that you won't be the only one.. We love to have men at Encausticamp as well.

As if that weren't enough the camp is located right on the intercoastal waterway and the spacious classrooms overlook the water where we can view the sunset each day and watch the ship traffic. It's a freaking paradise and the weather is perfection. Not too hot or cold.

More photos tomorrow.

There are some truly wonderful, wonderful prints in the images you captured here. And these are just a small selection from the total group. Quite fantastic. (And an inspiring teacher.)
