Taking A Breather

Exciting times over here. Amazon has shipped the book and you can even look inside it and see some of the projects on their site. Yay! While Stephanie and I are still awaiting our shipment to send out. (boo hoo) And I've been shooting videos for over a week for the online class that starts exactly one month from today on June 14th. Yay! The image above is a teaser from one of the projects in the class. Make it big ... lots of detail.

This is what my studio looks like after days of shooting video on the table. The video is all cool control while chaos swims just outside the lens area. That describes a lot of things in my life - ha!

Spring tiptoes in while we are doing other things. Nature and art are the comforts that sustain me.

This is my new passion. Vanilla Stevia and aguas made from fruit. I use very little juice; mostly filtered well water and a squeeze of various fruit juices plus the natural sweetener for tart things like limes and lemons. We make our own raisins from grapes we grow so those in hot water make a delicious sweet tea before bedtime. Yes, I'm 2 weeks off the nightly wine drinking and proud that I could give up my old relaxant for something healthier.

This time I left the writing on the right side of the page alone and made the image large enough for you to read if you care to click on it. Years ago the diary of a very old woman fell into my hands and I read that diary breathlessly right up until the day she died; I love to see what others write about, think about, and find important.

Thank you for the visit. I love knowing we can touch each other without leaving home.

Amazon has half the book available for preview! or so it seems. Wow! It looks great, I will watch your blog and buy a copy from you eventually. That's a better deal for you, right? Where do you find Citrasolve? I can't find it anywhere out here at the coast.

Oh yes, it's very hard to find. You can substitute vodka but that seems such a shame.

Yes, Amazon has a great preview but not half the book; no sweat. And I would say buy the book NOW, don't wait. Never put off anything fun. xo

Oh Wow, Wanda should do a review on Amazon. She sort of overwhelmed me and now I KNOW I must have the book. Congratulations dear Judy, you two did it despite roadblocks along the way.

I loved the story of the journal you read. Would you ever post a photo or two of it? So interesting.

No more wine? I thought wine in moderation was healthy? Good for you.

All joys and congrats,

I LOVE hearing that the book is finding lots of love out there and Wanda, I am thrilled that you "struck while the iron is hot" ... we must always get right into the studio when we are so inspired. Thank you so much for that comment - it really hit the spot.

And Sharon, no fears. I will have wine in moderation but it was time to rein it in. xo

Interesting reading some of your page on the right about art and craft, arguments that will never be resolved and keeping your own counsel. I have just read 'The War of Art' by Steven Pressfield-an interesting and quite mad in some places book! One of the things he talks about is that as an artist it is better to be territorial than hierachical-being hierarchical is to care about what other people think-to the extent that you do what you do for them and not for yourself. He gives an example of being territorial-that you would still do what you do even if you were the last person on earth.
Am looking forward to your book arriving! I am thinking the summer holidays may well be spent in a plastery mess!

Love your studio, love that it's full of the wilds of being creative, evidence of magic all over the place :-)

Hi Judy! I'm always inspired by you - you have a wonderful blog. I'm impressed by your beautiful journal pages. My journal sits with a pile of papers on top...but at least it is in view...waiting patiently. I look forward to getting the book and starting the Plaster Studio! We had a beautiful day yesterday and today it is pouring! Perhaps a good day to do a journal entry....?

I was so inspired by your post today. I loved hearing about the diary you read of a very old woman and how you read every word to the end. I can just imagine how touching that must have been and possibly inspired you in your journal writing.

Also, the idea of putting Stevia in fruit water is appealing to me. I drink too much nightly wine and I'm looking for an alternative.

I never thought of making raisins from the grapes in my small vineyard-another good idea and last but not least, your book looks divine. I love the peeled paint effect you are showing and I plan to take your online class.

Thanks so much for the great post!

I love all of this. You're like an entire solar system of beautifulness all rolled into one little blog post.
Mom is reading my younger siblings her journals and I hate to admit that I don't think I'm ready to read her opinion about many things. It'll have to wait until she's merely a perfect angel in my mind (and perhaps in reality too) before I'll be able to stomach such things. :)
bless her heart.

I am dying to have you read all my pages and get right into my brain!! It's a stunner, I tell you! I'll mail my book over to you. I could pick a random address, but it's probably best that you give me the actual one.

I LOVE this top photo. It's amazing. How can that exist? Love it, luv it, looooooouvre it.

So. I've printed out your journal page. I'm as nosy as you are!

xo

p.s. Okay, I'm nosier. And, noisier, probably.

Am I still talking?
