Post Thanksgiving Post

Just this moment my Thanksgiving guests are winging their way back to Northern California and their busy lives. We have had 5 wonderful days together including Thanksgiving and we are all refreshed now. What a gift. Such good people living in these times.

Journal pages before and after. They evolve, just like we do. The empty pages wait for the life that will be expressed onto them. I love watching Suzi Blu hug her journal in an embrace, close her eyes and say, "mmmmmm". She loves her journal. Smart girl.

I shot a still life while waiting for my company to arrive. Aren't the new Lemon Drop glasses pretty?

And nobody gets out of my house without painting a still life or two. I love to be the art instigator. To get to witness the happiness creating a painting invariably brings to people. The reaction is always one of surprise. No one expects to create something as good as they are able to create. And then they are very elated and they want to paint more. What fun!

We had an excellent Thanksgiving with our daughters, their families and our cherished friends. This is our circle now, the one that is unbroken. There have been other circles of family and friends over the years and all of them are in my heart, whole and together. I pray for all of us, that our hearts can expand to include as many others as possible. Therein lies happiness. Namaste.

Well said, Judy. I love that you make your guests paint. That is a wonderful gift to give them, a piece of their OWN art and the self satisfaction and fun that comes with that. Also, I read your article in Cloth Paper Scissors and loved it so much. yay!!

I soooooo love the idea that nobody gets out without painting a pic! I have done that myself some years ago and had the same results:D You gotta love it:) Congrats on the wonderful "blogging" article in the new Somerset Creative Blogging Mag. So well deserved and really delightful! It is great to see artists recognized for all their talent and hard work. Great Job!

Again, I can't help but feel a bit like a voyeur and also honored to be able to read from your personal journal. They are beautifully put together. I love the photo of the eyes in the drawing!

Today I made cloth books for my grandkids "to write their stories" in. Beginning journals? Never too young to start? (they are only 3 yrs old). It will be fun to see what they do with them, what we do together.

I am sure these books were inspired from what you are sharing here. I am inspired by so many.

I too loved the idea of inviting others to paint...what an invitation! Opportunity.

Have fun teaching your class! Wish I could be there too. Maybe one day....

June Carter just started singing Will The Circle Be Unbroken in my head as I was reading this sweet post. Oh will you look at those 2 dear fellows huddled over their paintings. Makes a heart glad. So do those exquisite martini glasses! What good taste Mr. John has.

p.s. find recipe for that limey ginger rummy cardamom concoction

XOXOXO

I love the idea of being an Art "instigator"! I shall have to try this - I'm tired of people sayings "I can't paint" without trying!

Great idea, getting them to paint! I need a bigger house to spread it out a little. My sis and I would particularly love this idea! Great journal pages!

Judy.. what a BEAUTIFUL POST...

it is inspiring and I think captures the TRUE essence of Thanksgiving. It is not about the food or shopping.. although I must admit I love that about the holidays...

but it is the moments we spend together... enjoying the moment and the company that surrounds us. BOY HOWDY.. what do you think a Thanksgiving of gathered artists would be like... OUTSTANDING... everyone making art.. with an explosion of ideas and creativity and food...
WHOAA!!!

xoxoxo!!!!
