Last night we celebrated the season again with lovely friends. This is one of two trees
Allegra and Beloved had put up and decorated in their home. I think it was something like 20 feet high (okay, that's an estimate) and every inch was festooned with vintage glass ornaments and rare treasures passed down in Allegra's family, some from the turn of the century. It was breath taking.

You can see Allegra's hand in the doorway for scale. I wasn't able to get the whole tree in one shot. Really, the most amazing tree I've ever seen in someone's home.

Can you see the bewitching martini with the purple glow in the background? Well, beside the LED ice cube (magic!) Allegra made us Parfait Amour Martinis which contain Liqueur des Violettes and gin.

This is the wonderful Liqueur; softly flavored with a hint of citrus, vanilla and the scent of Violets. And it's the most remarkable color. I think this is the wrong brand but a long search on the net didn't produce many choices.

Already I'm in a waking dream and we haven't even left the kitchen yet.

This is the magnificent flan she'd prepared for us. I couldn't begin to describe how caramely, creamy, sensual and silky it was. Beyond the beyond. A dessert for angels.

After a meal of Tortilla Soup (the picture was unsalvagable; tragically) with avocado, radish, cheese and sour cream dressing, Empenadas (I can still smell their buttery magic) and Chili Relleno Casserole, we admired the glass ornaments and had a warm visit. I shot a few photos for you.

Don't you love the Egyptian king? So elegant!

There were many blown egg ornaments that Allegra had made when her children were young and beautiful things were needed at a time when resources were slim. Oh, they were so clever and original. We laughed about how efficient our younger selves were and how inventive.

The evening ended with steamy lattes and heartfelt embraces. We remembered so many of you with affection that it seemed fitting to invite you along. What a wonderful community we share, all of us who love to make things and explore together and grow together and support each other.
I'm loaded up with a new supply of paper clay and ready to make new dolls. Thinking about getting an oven for the Sculpy; despite myself I do love the strength of it and how quickly I can get to the painting (i. e. the fun part). Do any of you more experienced Sculpy artists have suggestions on a brand or type? I saw one at Michaels yesterday and came very close to bringing it home with me.
Thanks for all your kindness and comments. I feel buoyed that you come here and respond. (((hug)))
