Seven Quirky Things

I've been tagged by Lynn to list seven quirky things about myself. At first I thought, "no way, I'm too busy" and then ha-ha found myself needing to procrastinate cleaning the house for our Thanksgiving house guests so I thought this was an important obligation to fulfill.

First Quirky thing: I'm a slovenly housekeeper and don't count dust as a bad thing. I tell myself that my housekeeping helps keep my immune system strong.

#2 - I'm a long term sticker kind of a person. I keep in touch with friends I grew up with. My longest friendship is with a woman who was a Brownie with me when we were both 8 years old. We were room mates in college and after college. I visited her in Arizona in August.

#3 - I have always thought of myself as an artist until about 3 years ago. That's when I discovered that every other person on earth is an artist too and that the word is really meaningless. Now I just think of myself as me.

#4 - I sleep more than most people. Last night I slept for 11 hours. I love my dreams and do amazing things in them that I cannot do when awake. Once I dreamed I danced with Picasso and I was wearing a black sheath with an open back. Picasso told me I was ravishing. I can always fly in my dreams. When I want to go somewhere I usually fly there.

#5 - I have always dressed in weird clothes when I was trying not to. I have no fashion sense.

#6 - I dont like for people to see my body so I dress modestly. I would like to wear a burka but only if I felt like it. Once in college I wore a raincoat to school buttoned up over the slip that I slept in. I like tent shaped clothes.

#7 - I dislike shopping and find brightly lit stores repellent. I avoid them and spend most of my money online or buying directly from people I like. I like Goodwill.

Whew! People that was hard. And now you know all my shameful secrets!! I tag YOU if you want to play.

edit: on May 11th I wrote out 7 other quirky things about myself and only (sort of) repeated one. Maybe this is a good exercise to do a couple times a year.

oh judy you have made me giggle. a burka! a burka! what am i going to do with you? i can just see you in your raincoat over your nightie. hee, hee. i did that in college, too. i just pulled some clothes right over my jammies. on saturday i put my apron on over what i had slept in (a tank top and boxer shorts) and was still wearing that late in the day. i almost walked out to get the mail in it because i had that long art apron on. ha. not so good if turned around! ha, ha. i just ready that mary ann will be sending you a stenciled birthday burka. not me, i'm sending you a bikini! screw that burka! lol!

I can relate to all of those things Judy, I met my best friend when I arrived out here from England, I was 9 and we've been best friends ever since.
I also dress for me not fashion, I occasionally come back into fashion in life's ever turning circle, especially when gypsy/hippy fashion is in.

You don't sound quirky to me at all. Just normal like me! LOL
Thanks for playing, you are a good sport!
I do find your dream life fascinating!
Meetcha at goodwill!
Thanks for saying everyone is an artist.

I comepletely agree. Especially with #1. For the first time in my life, I'm trying to find my own fashion. I'm tired of "people" (read media) telling me what I should wear. I've been saying everyone is creative, is that the same as saying everyone is an artist? I think so.

Procrastination is my middle name! I applaud you for being brave enough to reveal your quirks to the internet public! Our quirks just prove us to be human. One woman's quirks are another woman's normal.

I just found your blog comment on the Cloth Paper Scissors website. Wow, you are truly a kindred spirt. I agreed with every word that you wrote about blogging, creating and writing. Thank you so much for writing that piece...you made my day. Karen

What fantastic quirks you have :) I also have burka days when, if I have to go out, I would be most happy in a burka. I have a pyjama quirk which is to always wear a nightie with pyjama bottoms instead of a pyjama top. Until you try it you can't imagine how amazing it is. I would happily wear this combination all the time if I thought I could get away with it!
